Kayak Rack for 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I need some advice on how to best transport my new kayak. Looking for an easy solution that will be secure and protect both my vehicle and kayak. Ideal solution will require minimum adjustments. Load, secure and go. Please see below:
