Ski Rack for 2003 Infiniti QX4

Customer Question:

I own a 2003 Infiniti QX4 with a factory rack. This truck has an aerodynamic style of cross bar.

I recently bought the Thule 91725 Universal Flattop 6 Carrier. I have found that the cross bars were slightly oblong and so the rack sits a little leaned toward the back on each one. I

have looked all over and have found that there are different feet that can be attached that will allow it to sit correctly. What would you suggest?

Also I have purchased the Thule fairing that was suggested to fit by an REI in store consultant. This version is meant for a square bar. Are there other attachments available for the fairing that will allow me to connect to my factory bar? It seems like this would just be a snap on piece since all of the attachments for the fairing just pop on or off. Any suggestions in your inventory that will make this work better. Let me know if pictures would help with this. Thanks for your help. This is very frustrating and REI does not seem to know how to sell the correct products. I am tired of going back and forth to the store.

The 91725 should fit your factory rack, but you may need to remove one or more of the plastic pads that come with the assembly that grabs your factory rack. I have a similar problem with one of my vehicles and solved it by trial and error removal of two plastic pads.

The 871xt fairing (I hope that is the size you have) will not work with your QX4’s racks. It will, however, work with a Thule base rack, which I would suggest you add to your QX4.

Even though the vehicle has a factory rack, the Thule base rack solution is stronger and more versatile than the factory rack:
