Kayak Carrier for a 2010 Toyota Corolla

Customer Question:
I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla. What is a good roof rack I can get for a kayak?

Racks for All Recommendation:
Here is a custom fit from Thule:

Thule Aero Foot Pack
Qty x 1

Thule Fit Kit 2197
Qty x 1

Thule 50 Inch Load Bars (1 Pair)
Qty x 1

And kayak racks can be found here. I would recommend the 883 Glide and Set for a single kayak.

Note that all of the Thule products will work with this base rack system, you can shop for accessories from this starting point.

Cargo Rack for 2009 Chevy HHR

Customer Question:

I need a cargo/luggage rack for a new 2009 HHR, it has the side rails, but no cross rails.

Will the Thule MOAB work/fit? I really just need something for a couple suitcases, and to keep it from sitting on the roof itself.

Racks for All Recommendation:

The MOAB will work, but only with a base set of crossbars. Here’s what I would recommend as a packaged solution for the MOAB base:

Comes with locks.

Or you could use a cargo bag with this base rack such as the Thule 856, which has a great price point. Here are the rest of the cargo bags.

Yakima Base Rack for 2009 Nissan Versa Hatchback

Customer Question:

I have a question regarding a Yakima rack fit for my 2009 Nissan Versa,
hatchback. I do not have a factory rack installed. I would like to carry
one flatwater kayak and I already own two-48 inch crossbars as well as a
couple different saddle configurations. I would like recommendations as to
what additional components I will need to purchase and if you have the
components onsite.

My presumption is that I will nee 4 new towers and the appropriate clips.
When I do the online configuration with Yakima it gives me two different
clip numbers, so I am not sure which to purchase. Also, will a 48 inch bar
be adequate for my car?

Racks for All Recommendation:

To use your current Yakima accessories on your Versa hatchback, you will need to build a new base rack. Your 48 inch crossbars are not large enough. Here is the configuration needed:

Yakima Q Towers - set of four

Qty: x 1

Yakima 58 inch Roundbars

Qty: x 1

Yakima Q34 Clips

Qty: x 1

Yakima Q131 Clips

Qty: x 1

Note that all of the Yakima products will work with this base rack system, you can shop for accessories from this starting point.

Thule Echelon Questions

Customer Question:

Hello,

I was looking at building my a bike rack for my car.
I’m going to use Thule RB53 Rapid Aero load bars and Echelon bike trays.
What adapter do I need for the Aero bars?
If I buy 2 Echelon trays do I have to buy key cylinders separately or does it come with?
What steps do I have to take to have matching locks for the trays?

Racks for All Recommendations:

The Echelon requires the use to the XADAPT9 adapter to work with the RB53 load bars. The lock cores are not included with the Echelon or your base rack. You would want to get 4 lock cores for the base rack you’re building and 1 for each Echelon. Thule sells these in sets with common keys. I would recommend the Thule 596 locks as a result – giving you six with the same key.

Make sure to use the fit configurator, or send me your vehicle make model, and year for a fit check.
